My laptop works!

I fiddled with it and got the internet to work, and the sound to work!

But the little thing that pops up when you plug in a harddrive or flashdrive doesn't come up anymore. and I have to manually run Explorer whenever I restart/turn on my laptop because it doen't automatically start anymore. But that is insignificicant in the face of EVERYTHING ELSE WORKING.

It only took what? Three weeks?

It is also good that it works because my dad can't find the reformat discs. o:

I've totally missed having a keyboard this small. And in this exact format, really. o: Been using this, and pretty much only this, laptop for four and a half years now.

Also, I have an 8 page research paper to write by 4PM today! And I haven't started! And I have to revise a 4-page paper after that!

I'm listening to music on my dad's laptop (while writing my four Women Studies Seminar essays, thanks very much), and I'm noticing something odd.

Different voices are coming to the fore while others are sinking behind into the background. I wonder if maybe the sound settings are WAY off from what kind of settings I usually have.

I'm using good headphones, a make I used for about 8 years that have never failed me. I think it's the internal sound system that's having some issues.

Also, the bass is super bassy. Maybe I should listen to Danse Macabre again just to make sure of the emphasis. xD;

PS - I love love love Sugizo's violin-playing. o: It's so pretty and haunting.

I have this urge to watch J showing off in front of the pyrotechnics again.

Grades are in!

I got:

Indian Lit: B+
Latin Amer Lit: A
Senior Synth: A

Yay! But...

I have a cumulative 3.497.

I ONLY NEED .003 TO BE ON THE DEAN'S LIST.

...

I WANT TO GRADUATE ON THE DEAN'S LIST SO SO SO MUCH.

And I have three hard classes lined up for my last quarter, with Drs. Weber, Tung, and someone else whose class just sounds hard already especially because it's apparently a Senior Synth equivilant.

This is going to be difficult. .-.

So yesterday I took a break between writing papers and went downtown to Westlake to stock up on the ridiculously bright green nail polish at Claire's before it was discontinued. Got two bottles.

And then I went to Daiso to look around. And they had this package with a ratchet clip and big metal hooks and five meters of bright flourescent green nylon strap. for $5.

5m = approx 4.5 yards.

So I debated for a moment before buying it. Because usually the conditions for buying something is I have to have an idea of how I would incorporate it into the outfit.

But I'm thinking of making a pair of pants to alternate with the skirt for a different look. I'd be doing it in the style of Pretty Sakito Cosplayer's friend who had a costume that doubled as a working straightjacket. So I bought it.

And...

I just pulled it out of the packaging and looked at it closer and it's even more flourescent than it was in the store. It's practically luminescent in natural light. It's fantastic. It's eyebreaking. I love it so much already.

Also, I hear that the Girugamesh concert is going to be on Friday with an opening by The Slants. Hangry and Angry are playing on Sat, and The Slants are playing again on Sunday.

So you know how honey is supposed to have healing/medicinal qualities? Like, making sore throats feel better when put into lemon tea, and being better and more gentle than an antibacterial wipe for when babies have cuts? And whatnot?

Well, I just swished a mouthful of honey around in my mouth. And it almost entirely healed the two sores on the bottom of my tongue.

This is a miracle substance. Seriously.

So my tongue has been giving me grief lately.

Actually, I suppose it's my wisdom teeth that are giving me grief. They're coming in (more) (again) (still...) and every time they advance more, they shift my other teeth around slightly and the sharp points rest in new places on the underside of my tongue and form sores. They come edging in a little more every couple of months, two or three times a year. A week or two ago I could feel them coming out more and prying their way through my gums. It's kind of like teething all over again, except I don't remember teething the first time around.

So if you see me talking strangely in the next week or two, I'm just trying not to open my mouth enough to scrape the sores.

So I thought I had my design for my new outfit finalized, but I just thought of a new variation.

The original idea was to make a slightly bunchy, jagged skirt out of approx 8 diamond-shaped pieces of cloth and then edge the bottom in green.

But now I'm considering making a skirt out of maybe only 5 or 6 panels, making it less bunchy, but over the top of the skirt itself attaching free-hanging extra panels at the waist, much like the ones for my Red/Black streetgear outfit.

It would give it a double-skirt effect, or so I'm theorizing. Or they might just look stiff and awkward. I'm not sure yet. Maybe I should just make a prototype of each design and see which looks best. As best as it can in terrible quilting cloth.

At least I finished my new hairpieces. I need to try them out to see how well they wear.
